The Ain’t Rights, a punk band from the suburbs of Washington DC, is on tour when one of their gigs falls through. Far from home and low on gas money, they take a replacement gig at a bar in the heavily forested outskirts of Portland, Oregon. Things go from sketchy to horrifying when they realize that the bar is a clubhouse for neo-nazi skinheads and that one of these skinheads may have just killed someone. When the neo-nazis decide that they don’t want to leave any witnesses, the band finds themselves trapped in their green room, barricading the door and fighting for their lives.

Green Room is a horror-thriller from American director, cinematographer, and screenwriter Jeremy Saulnier, known for critically-acclaimed underground thrillers including Blue Ruin (2013) and Rebel Ridge (2024). Green Room itself is acclaimed for its mix of visceral intensity and intelligence. After its wider release in 2016, it made many critics’ top ten lists for the year. The film features standout performances from young actors Imogen Poots, Alia Shawkat, and the late Anton Yelchin. It also features a truly menacing performance from Patrick Stewart as the neo-nazis’ ruthless leader. Green Room is a must-see for horror fans and punk rockers alike.
